Here at the Social Firm we care about our community and we are dedicated to giving back. Throughout the year we volunteer and take part in different projects. In fact, everyone in our team is involved with a charity of some sort and they take an active role outside of the projects we put together as a team.
On that note, today I will share with you my passion project—the annual Make CF History Hockey Tournament benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I have been involved for a few years now, and I would love for you to get involved as well. This year we are taking over a new setting, we have moved from The Chiller at Easton to the Ice Haus downtown, which will allow the participants to enjoy hockey along with all the fun that Downtown Columbus has to offer!
In a nutshell:
This is a hockey tournament with the goal of raising awareness and funds for cystic fibrosis research, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the CF Foundation.
The four-day event will feature a USA Hockey Sanctioned Tournament for adult amateur men and women, a kids’ pond hockey tournament, public skate for the general public (all ages), and a stick-and-puck for kids (ages 5-12). The event will also have a silent auction, both onsite as well as online. All events are free and open to the public.

At the Ohio Health Ice Haus located at 200 W. Nationwide Blvd., Columbus, OH 43215.
The event will take place June 5-8, 2014.
Cystic fibrosis is a disease that according to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation affects an estimated of 30,000 children and adults in the United States and around 70,000 people worldwide. CF patients have a life expectancy of 30-40 years old. But recently, due to relentless research efforts, new drugs are being tested, and the hopes are that the cure will be found in the near future! This fact gives us that extra push to take our fundraising efforts to the next level and work hard to do our part in making cystic fibrosis a thing of the past.
