So you want to show off your new business to the world. You have this grand idea for a video that includes visual effects, aerial shots of your city and scenes in four different parts of town along with a professional actress as the spokesperson. It’s going to be amazing… But your budget is only $500. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but $500 won’t cover a video of that magnitude. Amazing ads produced by Nike, Gatorade and the like cost thousands of dollars– and they’re worth it. Those ads make their products look amazing and do a good job of presenting their brand the way they want it to be perceived. Unfortunately, not everyone has that kind of budget. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have quality videos that communicate the same messages that these thousand dollar Nike commercials do.
One of the best things you can do is to show customers who you are, what you do, and what you can offer them. If you keep the elements of the video down to the basic essentials, you can get a fairly inexpensive video out of this simple concept. For example, in our featured video of the week for our Small Business Inspires Video Series, “Cut Maps” was able to easily and efficiently communicate who they were, what they do and what value they can bring to the customers:
It’s nothing complicated and LeBron James doesn’t have a cameo in the video, but the video does what it’s intended to do – communicate! As a business looking for cost effective videos, a simple showcase of what you offer is all you’ll need to start.
