3 Reasons Your Company Should Provide Free, Reliable WiFi to Customers

Face it, you need to be connected to the internet 24/7. If you don’t have WiFi, you don’t know what to do yourselves. Don’t believe me? Try this for 24 hours.

  1. Disable the data and WiFi on your phone.
  2. Keep your laptop in the bag.
  3. Stay away from the computer.
  4. Call a friend (yes, call them) and do something outdoors.
  5. Wait for anxiety levels to rise.

Whether it’s for business or pleasure — the internet has become a crucial necessity in our everyday lives. Without it, I’m not sure we would know how to function as professionals and members of society.

Despite this need, many companies do not provide free, reliable WiFi to customers. Here are three reasons why your company must plan to provide this necessity.

1. It keeps your current customers happy.

Today, people are generally accustomed to having an internet connection that is reliable. If your business does not provide WiFi, customers will likely spend less time with you. If your company provides WiFi that isn’t reliable, customers will complain and will deter others from coming in.

2. Free WiFi attracts new customers.

This can especially be true for people who are not from the area of your company, such as tourists and business professionals. If a customer is comparing two similar businesses and only one of them has free WiFi, which one do you think he/she would choose? People are also afraid to go out alone, and being able to use the internet takes that solo stigma away.

3. You can use it as a marketing initiative.

If you provide WiFi to your customers, you can initially direct their internet experience to your business’ landing page. Here, customers can learn more about your business and see current specials, promotions and upcoming events that they otherwise wouldn’t know about. After all, driving more attention to your company’s website and promotions allows you future opportunities to re-target these customers with your paid ads.
